Welcome to Aberdeen. Welcome to Aberdeen's Tourist Graffiti Trail. Please enjoy trekking round our City Centre.
Start at Cowdray Hall on Schoolhill (look for the lions), and attempt to locate the photos in the numerical order presented below.
You will need to use Google Maps and self-navigate (that's what makes it fun!), but if you find all the graffiti in the following order you will enjoy a leisurely 1 - 2 mile stroll round the "real" Aberdeen that many tourists miss out on.
Eventually you will return towards McCombie's Court which leads onto Union Street (Aberdeen's main thoroughfare).
The whole walk will take the average walker about 1.5 hours - enjoy!
After Crooked Lane, go straight ahead up Charlotte Street until you come to John Street.
After John Street, head down N. St. Andrew Street, towards Woolmanhill.
After Woolmanhill, go all the way up St. Andrew Street, turn left at Loch Street and eventually turn right at Spring Garden. At the top of Spring Garden you have reached the Gallowgate. Head right down the Gallowgate.
Go back on to the Gallowgate after finding the graffiti on Littlejohn Street. Continue onto Broad Street, past Marischal College (you can't miss that!) until Queen Street is on your left.
After finding the phone box on Queen Street, head back onto Broad Street. Look out for the Netherkirkgate on your right.
Go through McCombie's Court and you have arrived on Union Street, Aberdeen's main thoroughfare.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the "real" Aberdeen, and the grimy side of the Granite City.
