Why are the Christmas lights still up on Union Street?
Are the Council so hard up they cannot afford to pay someone to take them down?
It's February for goodness sake !
Surely, it cannot be good for the security and integrity of the lights and their fixings to stay up for prolonged periods of time.
What about all the extra storms to which they are being subjected? The Christmas lights have collapsed onto Union Street in the past. Are the Council willing to take the risk of a recurrence? Does the Council not know it's unlucky to leave Xmas decorations up this long?
I guess we must wait and see how long it takes for the lights to come down. If they come down at all. And if they come down intentionally.
