It has just been announced that the John Lewis (Aberdeen) store is to close.
This is devastating news for Aberdonians, coming on the back of the Debenhams closure. Whilst we all enjoy the convenience of shopping online, there is nothing to beat a browse around the department stores of the city centre, and John Lewis was arguably the jewel in the crown of Aberdeen city centre shopping.
You have to ask where Aberdeen city centre is going as a shopping destination. It will soon be filled with nothing more than betting shops, mobile phone shops, eCig shops and Poundland shops.
Grim, doesn't even begin to describe it.
Oil capital of Europe?
When even the drug capital of Europe (Dundee) is looking like a nicer shopping destination, you know things are really bad.
